Harvey Keitel stars in the lead role as the fanatical and frustrated father Tony, who can't seem to let go of his son Jeff.rnJeff (Brad Rowe) is made of a softer kind of wood than his tough father. Jeff wants to be a writer and gets into an affair with the beautiful but very unworldly Kelly. Tony tries to protect his son from worse, but Jeff chooses Kelly, who soon becomes pregnant. Tony is furious and distances himself from Jeff, until at a certain point Kelly becomes increasingly unstable and dangerous to those around her and father and son are condemned to each other....
